We've all been there. You want to run an STF and you are the only one on. Or there are only two to four from the fleet on. But do you just join the queue and hope you don't draw a skittle boat maverick?
No!
I came across mention of a channel a few days ago that has been a great help. Join "PublicEliteSTF" (then I'd suggest placing it on a chat channel you don't need to see all the time). I've had good luck with it, told Samual about it with good results and last night along with Todd we used it to fill two spots for all three of the space missions - completing each with the optionals.
The idea is that anyone in the channel should be familiar with the tactics and optionals (this isn't a 100% thing but it is a lot safer than the complete random queue). If you are looking to join a game but you are just a single player watch the channel. If you see someone post:
"LF3m - CSE - cheese"
That means that the next three people that post the word cheese will be invited to the private Cure Space Elite match. There will often be a moment to make sure everyone is on board and ready to go then the leader will start the match - DO NOT HIT THE LEAVE BUTTON when the queue pops (unlike joining as a team or single to the regular queue there isn't a window that gives a Join and Leave selection, only Leave - so don't click nothing!) just sit tight.
If there are two to four of us on and want to run an STF it is equally simple. Open the PVE queue window > click Create > choose the map you want to run > name your match (you can set a password but no one does, if someone you didn't invite joins you can kick them) > then once you create the match a new window will open with roster and a chat window. Now post in PublicEliteSTF what you are looking for: "lf2m - ISE - poncho" then when you see the word poncho right-click that person's name and select Invite to Challenge Match and there they are in your game. When everyone is ready click the start button and go win.
One caution - be careful when joining other games. If you aren't paying attention you could accidentally join the ground version (IGE vs ISE) and find yourself unprepared with four unhappy teammates.
